December events

Post by Keith Williams » Tue Nov 17, 2009 1:00 pm

We have been a little slack these last couple of months with events....... so lets get back on track

6th December
MGF Register xmas natter & awards at the Dog House, Abingdon.
If any one wants a cross country run to the dog we can meet up and run down together.
Meet at TGI Fridays, Coventry, CV3 2TA for a 10:00 start.

KeithW
Chris & Catherine
Pete and Caroline

9th December- HoE pub natter -
Natter wil be held on the 15th December at The Blue Lias at Stockton.

'Christmas' run: updated on 21st December
I was also thinking of another run between xmas and new year like we did last year. Came across a 'best midlands' run printed in the Telegraph that starts Northhampton way and crosses the midlands via Banbury and ends up at Fleece Inn http://www.thefleeceinn.co.uk/ which a few may remember we went to for a classic car show one evening that didn't happen. I will try and check it out one Sunday.
Any one interested in a run to blow the cob webs away after all that turkey?
28th December - Start time 10:00
start point Cromwell Cottage, Kislingbury, NN7 4AG http://www.thecromwellcottagekislingbury.co.uk/
Start time 10:00 to get to the Fleece Inn for 12:00 ish. We have a table for 10 booked for 12:30.
If any one else wishes to join the run please let me know so I can book a larger table or we will be sitting in stages to eat at the one we have on order :)

Good to hear there is someone out there still Pete. I thought every one had hibernated for the winter
Will have to firm up a date for the run when we get a little more interest. I am off between xmas & new year so any day is possible for me.

Dog House run?
Looking at the maps today, if anyone fancies a better run down than the M40 (no Keith's roads on this run promise!), could maybe meet up at TGIs in Coventry and use either the Fosse or run down sort of parallel to the M40 via Banbury and the old Oxford Road.

Some of us are still about although I do not know after this week as I go back into full time retirement at the end of the month.

We will do your run down thru Banbury on Saturday to visit friends in Oxford then pre party in the evening.

We can decide for 9th at the DH. Maldives ??

We will take an alternative run on New Years Day from Lauterbrunnen - Interlaken - Spiez - Gstaad (for Lunch) - Aigle ( MG) - Les Diablerets - Gstaad and back to Lauterbrunnen. Any others welcome.

Back on 9th for the Natter on 13th January.

We will be having a Midlands natter on the 9th, and I have decided a change of venue is called for.
So Decembers natter will now be taking place here :P
Any idea of numbers so I can book a table?

PS. We leave on the 4th and wont be back until the 11th, so will miss DH too.

You can go off some people really quickly

Looks a great venue, would join you but even if I set off now, I don't expect the F to get there in time :D

Have a great trip & enjoy the sun shine :thumbsu:

Ann has got her bag packed.
We remember it well from the days when I made regular trips to Sri Lanka
How about slipping the Natter to 3rd Wednesday 16th ?? We cannot do anything later otherwise you would need snow chains to join us.

Date change suits me OK. Moves it away from the Dog House meal too. We also might get a stick of rock if we wait till the 3rd Wednesday :D

Good try there Alan - 2 cars to supply you with all your requirements. Can you strip and fit everything you need for yours though in only a week? Neither of them would notice I am sure.

Tried out the christmas run today in what started out to be good weather which soon deteriated into something else.

Not sure if I would rate it as the 'best road run' in the Heart of England but the roads are pretty good. Just a pity about the pretty villages it runs through to slow down the speed

Most of the run is on solid tarmac roads you will be pleased to hear - well nearly all :D Will need to look at a back up pub as the Fleece looks like it will get busy, so unless we get there early may need an alterative to ensure we can eat OK. Will phone them nearer the time to see if we can book?

Xmas natter - Dog House run

Looks as if it is only be Chris & I going down on the Sunday. Will email out the TomTom route tonight.
Meet at TGI Fridays, Coventry, CV3 2TA.
Just need to sort a time out now. A 10:00 start if we go direct to the Dog House. An earlier start required if we go via Kimber House & the run. I am easy either way.

I think time wise I am unlikely to get Catherine out of bed in time for Kimber House!

We don`t have a tom tom sat nav it is a Navigon so you will have to try and loose us :)

Caroline is off the 28,29 Dec and I am off the 28 and could probably get the 29 Dec off as well for a run ??
