Re: Apropos of nothing......(free-speech zone)
You're probably wondering why I'm posting here, when I should be out being wined and dined by Mr. Perfect
Yes - you are.
Sadly he had to postpone his trip for unavoidable reasons, but fear not - the irresistable force and the immoveable object will celebrate the New Year in style.
I hope you all have a happy time and enjoy your food and wine.
See you in the new year, if not before.
Happy happy joy joy.

P.S. - 7 year-old Cyder Brandy from
Penhallow in Cornwall makes a fine substitute.

Martock isn't too far away, but I won't go anywhere near it on my journey. Miles in the wrong direction.

Here I am in Moseley - Land of the Free and Home of the Brave - and parked up next to a well-used ZR. The MG world has a strong magnetic force.

Re: Apropos of nothing......(free-speech zone)
And a very VERY belated Happy New Year to my homeys.
Got the new FasTForward today, and was very pleased to see a great pic
of me and Nigels in the chicane at Thruxton.
What a great day that was. Definitely more to come.
Also got the new Safety Fast today. I shall read that later.
FasTForward always gets pounced on first.

That would be some sort of televisual 'entertainment'?

Re: Apropos of nothing......(free-speech zone)
It would, neither the Magic Lantern nor the Zoetrope being equal to the task.
In 1984 the Australians and the English declared war (again), when the story of the 'Bodyline', or 'Fast Leg Theory'
method of bowling, immortalised by Mr Harold Larwood, was produced by an Australian Televisual Company,
possibly as a means of 'psyching-out' the English cricket team.
And much good it (eventually) did 'em !
The series brings back such names as Jardine, Bradman, Warner, Larwood, and is a delightful way
of enjoying Gentlemanly Violence whilst sipping tea and eating cucumber sandwiches.
Or Pimms, if one prefers alcohol with one's blood sports.
Halcyon days, my dear - halcyon days.

Re: Apropos of nothing......(free-speech zone)
sorted the slip sliding problem on slush and snow .
put a 25kg bag of coal in the bonnet not perfect but a dam sight better lol
First car i ever had was a sunbeam imp sport and that lifted at speed and had little steering, added a spoiler under the frount on each wishbone and a sack of potatoes in bonnet to, and it was fine

Re: Apropos of nothing......(free-speech zone)
Ditto the huge frontal weight needed in my first car, also the Imp sport. I had a massive old cantilevered toolbox in the bonnet and kept all my tools, nuts and bolts in there. Crossply tyres were significantly cheaper than the new fangled radials and gave much more exciting handling under all conditions.
Deja vu - a hugely underrated economical car with a tendecy to overheating problems and damage caused by overexuberant driving!

Re: Apropos of nothing......(free-speech zone)
main reason they overheated was leaves getting stuck in the rad couver it was a service itim to clean out that big fan sucked them in and they just stuck
i usto fill the tank for 36/0 on a friday empty to full but then it was only 3/6 a gall then same price as a pk of fags . now about £7 still same as a pk of fags lol.
1st wife nan lived in norfolk and always usto go there with a sack of potatoes in bonnet leave with her and come back with a sack of daff bulbs.
This MGF needs some weight in slipery weather to weigh the frount down there is no weight there and frount brakes are 60% of braking so in snow it just kicks anti-lock in far better with 25kg of coal in bonnet.
