Best website
I can't bear the silence.
What other websites do people look at for their MG fix?
I like this one but it is quiet.
My favourite is the MGE BBS but unmoderated it can get quite challenging at times, yet though international it can go a day or two without any new posts at others.
Quiet is what you will never find at MGR.org where illiterate passers by post upward of 20 new threads every day, but like satellite television replacing terrestrial, the massive extra quantity contains only about the same quality, distributed rather more thinly. Also you need an aspirational avatar and phonetic spelling to participate. 'I paid £4000 pounds for it last week and it has blown up, the car is stupid'. Mmm.
Where else to look?

Re: Best website
Charles - see - MGFs are very modern and without the history yet... We know one HGF is very much like another (expensive)
Now try the following links to "You Tube" with sound right up and see if you can get that proper "MG" feel...
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=M2ZxKi6g6 ... re=related
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=wRtM_Nk6I ... re=related
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=XSMKMjVxB ... re=related
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=-VxXaCJU_2A&NR=1
Are you feeling better now and can you find me any more? We haven't had our tops off for weeks and one is feeling the need isn't one!

Re: Best website
Thanks Pete! I love the Sicilian time lapse rebuild. Give me a shout if you need a copilot for the A - my landings are top notch too.
Perhaps I should have specified best forum/discussion website!
I managed topless in to work once last week (wednesday I think) and have't been out all weekend. But I did paint the moulding on the steering wheel boss much better than the first time. The dash one is a huge improvement too, thanks to daylight, but it is really hard to paint without seeing it from on top. I had thought body colour BRG would look good and understated but it will have to be maroon, or whatevr else the MG purists want to call it, Humbrol No.20 suits me. Must fly marmalade bubbling away downstairs...Goodwood if not before.

Charles
Your love of "threading" was appreciated. I guess people mostly start up threads as they need assistance/advice with a problem. Now our "Fs" are more mature, settled down and being nurtured properly, there are less problems, hence less threads and activity??? I must admit I find the MG Enthusiasts site which appeals internationally, the most active for the "F" and especially with the "A" which seems to have got most places in the world, where spares are hard to come by and just about every possible problem has been seen by someone in the world before. I felt you needed a change of direction and cheering up - hence the videos... Obviously marmalade is your other hobby though; we'll have to pop in for brekky sometime to try it out! No apologies for going off the subject - it's MG marmalade isn't it!

This was a rude error as I now see that we have had a moderator since saturday. Apologies all round but especially to our lovely new moderator.charless wrote:P.S. Off topic, I know(no moderator now so who cares) but the marmalade is astonishingly good. ;o)
PS One final off topic unruliness - the marmalade really is very good, I had some yesterday, and am feeling better today.
