Great run .. worth the trip up. We blasted off at the end of the lights as likewise we needed to check in to our hotel !!

Fish & Chips was nice in the pub, but they had run of cheese for the fondue starters !!!

Sorry didn't make the lakes.....after a few pints of Stella once checked in the hotel we opted for a wonder round the pleasure beach, watching the football and finished off with 1/2 drive through of the lights again and a rather wet journey back home.

Did anyone hear any better drunk hecklers than someone shouting 'short back and sides please' [which he then explained to us & his friends that it was due to us having hair dressers cars .........]

We did the Hardknott pass 18 months ago - in the dark and fully ladden in the Volvo- nearly managed to burn the clutch out

Our food was ok but nothing special we had the bacon burger but at least the weather stayed dry for the run and yes we heard the comments about hairdressers cars would be intresting to know what they drive. Good to meet some of you but never got the chance to meet everyone like we had hoped as it all happened rather quick once we had finished eating & we finally got home about 10 pm Sunday after a very pleasant day in Chester zoo

Many thanks for your comments dell, sorry it was so quick after the meal, but it was still midnight before we were through the lights, so i am not sure that we could have left it much later to set off. The general feeling seems to be that the meal left something to be desired but generally I think that the pub catered for a large group that all arrived together with a varied menu fairly promptly and as well as they were able to given that they were also catering for other customers not in our group.
