Hello Everyone
Just joined so saying hello, been looking at 1.8vvc MGF and a few MGTF 135s, should be seeing a MGTF160 before weekend, WFH and no need for 2 'sensible' cars is allowing me to ponder my midlife crisis. After a few diesel family cars broke a run of Mini, Ford XRs, 220 turbo coupe, MX5 mk1, S13 200sx, I am looking to go back to enjoying driving and having a car worth looking after.
So far a 50k MGF 1.8vvc has me pondering between the (in my opinion) better looking MGTF and accepting as I get older maybe the more 'subtle' MGF....
Anyways hello!
Cheers
Adrian

Re: Hello Everyone
Hi and welcome.
go for the TF160 and then have the VHS dampers fitted, it will make the ride so much better

Hi and welcome. I'm biased but i prefer the looks of the f over the tf. Whatever you buy though you should be happy with and have plenty of fun

Re: Hello Everyone
Hi and welcome to the forum.
The best advice I can offer is to try a few
The F and the TF drive quite differently.
And then the Trophy and MY05 are different to their respective main models.
Also consider the use you want from the car, the F is more of a tourer while the TF is more of a sports car.
In normal driving a F120 or a TF135 are nice but the F-143 VVC and the TF-160 VVC come in to their own when driven hard.
Good luck with your search.

Re: Hello Everyone
Thanks everyone, so now on the drive is a 50k X reg, solar red, MGF 1.8vvc - (MY2000 ?). It seemed best option for me and will be my daily driver.
Might already have on order a 52mm throttle body, and the little springs to lower seat a bit. Not sure about the gold hardtop that came with it, but we'll see, it's a bit better now I've put it on straight, and will come off when I find somewhere to store it.....

Put it on straight?
Take it off and enjoy the wind in your hair.

When I first picked it up and drove it home, there was loads of wind noise...talkingcars wrote: ↑Wed Mar 31, 2021 7:49 pmPut it on straight?
