"Run to the Sun" July 22nd

Post by NoseyParker » Tue Jun 26, 2012 8:06 pm

Hi all

Thanks to all that showed at last weeks get together. Thanks also to Simon and Roger for passing on their apologies for not being there.

As discussed our region will be taking a slowish run down to hailing island on the 22nd of July in the hope by then it will be a run to the sun and not "a pain in the rain". Times and meeting points to be confirmed here once I have planned a route but get it in your diaries for a rough start at 11am for a picnic on the front at 1ish.

Please let me know if your interested so I can possibly include appropriate meeting points. By the way if we don't get the sun we should have some fun!!

All welcome

Rob

Rob and everyone else hi
Run to the sun sounds perfect
However as we had to miss the last pub meet / diary comparisons we are not available for the Sun Run
We have a long standing wedding anniversary in Henley which must be attended
However we wish you all a perfect sunny day and trouble free enjoyable motoring MGF style
We will endeavour to make the next meet come hell or high water or even anniversaries
All the best

Ok Chaps and Chapesses

The run hopefully will go somthing like this:

Meet Wellington Country Park main entrance (From M4 take junction 11 and follow A33 south towards Basingstoke. Then, follow the road signs) at 11am.

From there we will drift via sun dappled B roads via

Hook
Odiham
Alton
Selbourne

Then pick up the A3 and A3m to Hayling Island arrival 12.30 ish. If any MGs want to meet us and pick up the convoy in and around any of these areas en route please let me know.

On the Island we will make for the car park just behind the beach on the sea front hopefully you should see alot of MGsparked up there (this is the main bit of Hayling sea front but not the area close to the fun fair almost at the other end of the beach!!)

Lunch for 1pm ish, look forward to the 22nd at 11am

Rob

Rob,

Could meet you Guys at Odiham, presume you will be coming in on the B3339. If you could let us know a rough time we will be there.

Hi Ian

Yes your right we will be travelling on the b3349 through Odiham on the way to hook. If you like we could meet at the texaco garage just before the mini roundabout on the way out of Odiham heading south. This would be approx 11.30am. If you know where I mean let me know if you don't we can liase.

Hope this helps just let me know so we can pull over a wait for you.

Rob

Ps as a note to all cars joining I will put up a note on Friday confirming this run, I'm sure you all agree if it is forecast to be hammering down on Sunday then a postponement might be the order of the day. Watch this space

Was hoping to join you for this, but it looks like I'm going to be in the opposite end of the country. Shame really as you will be going right past the end of my road as you go through Hook.

Hope you have a good run, and will hopefully join you for the next one.

Rob,

Might it be better to meet at the Esso Garage, North Wanborough, if not, then the Texaco Garage is OK. What time roughly ?
