A date for the diary. Saturday 2nd November 2013 - 09:30.

The first (hopefully of many) East Midlands MGF Register Kaffenbak. I have shamelessly stolen this idea from the cycling community (and the name from a bike manufacturer).

The basic idea is that we all drive to a cafe and back (geddit, cafe 'n' back = Kaffenbak). It's not a run, more of a meet but at a greasy spoon cafe somewhere rather than a pub. We'll meet at 9:30 on the Saturday morning and probably be there for a couple of hours, then the rest of the day is yours to do as you please, either go off for a drive or head home for kid duties (that'll be me!).

I'm going for a tried and tested (many times ) venue for the first one. It's a great cafe with a selection of mammoth (and more sensible) fried breakfasts.

Go for it, it's not as if it was an original Brindley imagining!

I work 2 or 3 Saturdays a year it looks like the 2nd of November is one of them.

Boo, I don't seem to be picking the days very well for you Chris, hopefully there will more of these that you will be able to make.

Added Stephen and Gary to the list as both mentioned that they would be coming along at the natter on Tuesday

Well as i said i robed it and we went to a cafe in N Wales called the Ponderosa 13-15 cars turned up some went on to a drive into deeped N Wales and the rest went home.It was a great day and the sun shone all the time

Nice one. I think it might catch on. I'll put the Ponderosa down as a possible venue for one next summer.

Hi All,

Well, today's HGF repair didn't quite go to plan and the mechanic has to come back tomorrow morning. As a result I am very unlikely to be there at 9:30 tomorrow. I will try to get there as soon as I can, but not sure what time that will be.

If someone wants to send me their mobile number (via PM) I'll text or ring you tomorrow morning when I know more.

Hi all. Sorry I couldn't get there today. Mechanic didn't get here until later than planned so didn't leave until gone twelve. Hope you had a good breakfast, I've got some lovely venues lined up for next year, less truck stop more farm shop.
