Wiper lifting off screen at speed
Despite buying and fitting new blades, the drivers side which has an spolier, I am finding that at speed ............................ like motorway speeds that the blades skip and don't clear the screen which is not good at all. One needs to see theroad ahead. This also happens in strong winds are lesser speeds.
So have been wondering if a new wisper arm would help considering the origina in now 17 years old has it lost some of it's pressure on the screen?
Any help and advice would be appreciated.

It may be a silly question but has the blade been fitted upside down causing the aerofoil to lift the blade rather than push it against the windscreen?

Nope not silly at all and something I checked the other day. The blades are Lucas ones and even has have arrow stamped in it to show the way of fitting. The spoliler seems a bit abrupt an angle when compared to say a Bosch blade am wondering if this is having the effect?

You could try gentle bending the arm, so that the blade has more pressure on the screen.

Yes I had been considering that as I do happen to have a slightly newer, 2000 against 1997, arm off the VVC project.

Re: Wiper lifting off screen at speed
Well it seems that the new Lucas wiper blades are not fit for purpose. The passenger side has already lost almost all it's spring and does nto conform to the screens contour. Have sent a email to the supplier and now await an answer.
Meanwhile did a search and found that CarParts4Less have the Bosch spoiler blades on offer so bought two of those. Got it fitted to the drivers side and no longer have this problem even in this mornings dreadful winds. The two spoiler blades cost £10.32 delivered.
Lucas used to be fairly decent stuff but it seems those days are now gone .

Where did you get them from?
I wonder if they are counterfeit?
