Plastic rear screen

Post by stevied » Sat Apr 16, 2016 1:04 pm

My MGF has a glass rear. I recently purchased a set of X power roll hoops which have been fitted and look the part and make my wife feel happier. Trouble is that the hood will not fold flat now as the glass screen needs to be given a gentle lift to get it to sit above the rear lip. I have thought of taking it out for the summer (Zip fitted one) as I have a top cover I can put on at night. The other option would be to get hold of a plastic one and use that while the weather is warm. (I know, I know left to go to POL this morning but luckily found out it was cancelled before I got too far). I have seen a few for sale but they do seem to be quite expensive. Any suggestions or where I could source a cheap one save the obvious trawl round the scrappers?

I couldn't believe Rimmer's price. Upwards of £350! Just for the screen!

There are a few on eBay, when compared to Rimmer's £350+ are not a bad price ( I brought a complete hood with glass screen from Brown & Gammons for less).
I have brought them from Breakers for around £10-£20
