Well, I did it!!!

Post by bestgolfer » Fri Nov 02, 2007 9:47 am

After a glowing pre-purchase report, I have paid a deposit to secure my 2000 F with only 19,000 K on the clock. It's a terrific car, silver in colour, factory black leather, 16" wheels, sports SS muffler, incredible condition, seemingly almost prefect mechanical condition. Car has received a full service, including oil and filter change, re-fill of A/C system, drained and replaced coolant system, new windscreen rubbers, as well as a myriad of other small items. The ex Rover-MG chap that carried out the work said, and I quote, 'if you are in the market for a top F, you won't beat this one for appearance or mechanical condition"......how could I say no?

A few financial issues to sort out prior to delivery. Can't wait!

Thanks Broon, note that this is kilometers, not sure which units you were quoting, I think 19,000 K is around 10,000 miles, just guessing.

My wife and I had a celebratory dinner tonight in our seaside village, Barwon Heads, about 90 minutes from Melbourne. I have previously owned and MGA, an MGB-GT and two Jag's.

So nice to be back into MG's. Our local MGCC Geelong, is very active and actually welcomes other sporting marques, like Healey's, TR's and the like. Should be great fun. They have 450 members.

If you have time, have a look at mine http://www.ronaldbegg.id.au ........not so much about cars, but about where we live in Southern Australia. My Picassa site has some of my cars on it, see http://picasaweb.google.com/ronaldbegg

Well done, You have bought a good 'un. My wife enjoyed driving and being a passenger in it far more than my red one.

This is very disturbing, will have to re-convert you. Am running Leopard as well as Vista, via Boot Camp, now intergrated into Leopard, as you no doubt know. Leopard very impressive, especially Time Machine, which initially I thought looked like a gimmick. Lots of other 'goodies' too.

Please move away quickly from that dreaded 'dark side'

Just think of those summer runs with the top down along our Great Ocean Road. The GOR, just as a matter of interest to UK members, holds the record as the most travelled tourist road in the world.
The stop off's, Like Lorne, Apollo Bay and the 12 Apostles are pretty sensational. Unfortunately the road, and area in general, is a victim of its own success, in that in holiday times, you have to fight with the tourists and the Harley's. We live just near the start of the GOR.

If you are of a mind to do so, check out the website http://www.greatoceanrd.org.au it's worth it, then plan a trip to Oz!

Gentlemen (and Ladies),

If you have time and the inclination, check out my website http://www.ronaldbegg.id.au then go to heading 'MG F' for some detailed pics of the new steed, as yet undelivered.

Just activate 'Play Slide Show' and the Mac software will do the rest.

Ron (who can't wait to get his hands on the car)
