Mgf 1800 vvc , hello again
Just reacquainting myself with this forum
I’m now on my third Mgf
I inherited my latest Y plate one when my uncle sadly passed away a year ago
I enjoyed last summer with it, but our other modified cars had mor attention last year
Hopefully the weather will change soon and I can get it back out from winter hibernation
Just love the cars, great fun and the 1800 vvc is a great performer this car is low Mileage with tons of history and was sold new from the old mg dealer less than a mile from my house
Cheers Danny

Welcome back to the fold.
That's a clean looking car you have there.

The fiesta in the background is my 16 year old son George’s build,, finished for last summers shows
I drove him to a few and we took it to ford fair along with our modded escort van
The fiesta is now undergoing more work including and engine change soon possibly 1700 puma power

Re: Mgf 1800 vvc , hello again
My son is an apprentice mechanic so we often get offered older stuff through his workplace
So there’s always something being modified here!!
Re: Mgf 1800 vvc , hello again
The plan is to just enjoy the mgf this summer
It does have some slight paint issues front bumper and a few small scuffs elsewhere
But I think it’s part of this car’s history
My uncle was one of my best mates as well as family , so there’s no way I’ll ever sell this car
Just going to maintain it and enjoy it
And keep it sparkly clean

Great cars
Re: Mgf 1800 vvc , hello again
I’ve also been using it for my commute as a key worker all through the lockdown
I have not seen one other mgf on the road in that time have they all disappeared?!!
Re: Mgf 1800 vvc , hello again
Obviously through the lockdown I may not have seen any, but today I saw every kind of drop top but not one Mgf

There's lots of MGF Register members in the South East ~ guess they must all be hiding.

Re: Mgf 1800 vvc , hello again
Mine is in bits as I get on with the restoration - which is my excuse!!! but you don't see many 20+ year old roadsters on the roads of any type. Remember Z3s? Or Fiat Barchettas? When was the last time you saw one of those? Sometimes see MX-5s, but I wonder how many Japanese market imports have supported these numbers?
But point well made: people need to get there roadsters out there and enjoy a trip in the sun!

To be honest I hardly ever see one on the road either! Saying that I have started using mine as a daily again after a 6 year break!
