So should I go for standard or spax dampers?

Go for the best your budget can afford, bilsteins if you can.

Subframes back in situ temporarily so the car can be moved. Engine bay coming on :)

Andy and Stefan doing a great job. Great to talk through different ideas with them.

I would upgrade the shocks BUT reinforce the mounting brackets, I must admit I went over the top but the car did a lot of hill climbs and sprints.

Thanks for the comments on dampers. However, decided to stay with standard shocks to keep the balance right with the spheres. I could always upgrade in the future if I feel it's required.

Hi, I've been following progress on your car with great interest over the past few weeks. Andy has done quite a lot of work on my MGF's over the past few years and I know the high standards he works to.
Your Trophy is looking brilliant! I think it will be an absolute stunner when it's finished. Looking forward to further instalments, though I've been seeing your car in the 'metal' these past few weeks, as Andy is a mate and I pop in from time to time.
He recently finished re-commissioning a blue Trophy 160 for me - you may have seen it at Prestige MG. It had been off the road for a couple of years, was in poor condition with HGF and many other issues and was going to be broken for parts, but it's been saved and now back on the road and absolutely brilliant! The photo is at part completed phase - it looks even better now, but I've no photos -Dohh!

Hi Phil,
We must meet up sometime, it would be great to see and hear more about your car too. I am really getting into the Trophy mood, though it is going to be very difficult to part with my lovely 135+ which Andy knows well!
Cheers, Kevin

Hi Kevin,
I saw your beautiful TF when it was at Andy's a while back and I have to say I thought it was absolutely stunning!
I would have difficulty parting with that I think.
My big regret is selling a very early (2001) TF 160. Solar red with Oxford leather seats and just about every factory and dealer fit option available!
It would be great to meet up Kevin. I live in Coleshill so let me know next time you're coming this way and we can arrange something.
All the best
Phil

Are you Kidding Mr. Natural? Part with your stunning TF? I has been my desktop picture for ages!
The trophy is looking nice! But you must keep em both!

Oh dear, I will try for a while Sergi, though I am likely to be retiring soon so keeping two would be difficult

Well in that case move the red interior to the trophy ;)

Tempting... However, like my TF, I have some subtle changes in mind for the Trophy, but not too far away from original.

A little break in the process as Andy moves to new premises. And gives me chance to save some more funds

The head has gone off for porting and polishing, whilst enquiries are being made about a ceramic coating for the new 4-2-1 manifold. Also I have managed to source some 'Swedish wheels' and I have a spare set of new Goodyear tyres.

Not a huge fan of the "Swedish" wheels - the original Trophy items are so much nicer IMO. But love the work going on here! I need to treat N7 to a similar rebuild. Sadly this needs a huge amount of space and time to do properly - two commodities I sadly don't have.

Are Prestige restoring many MGFs? Perhaps worth my calling and discussing with them?

I will keep the Trophy wheels too Rob as they are my favourite wheels out of them all.
