Some pictures from the NEC this weekend
The Allegro club stand was in a good position this year, I also managed to get a sit in a GT40, orange wheels for the win! Harris Mann signed one of the cars when he visited the stand too.

Looked to be a fantastic show Ed - and the Aggro really does look at home under the show lights

Fuel filler fixed, happy with the result. Had to get it from the usa as I couldn't find the right bolt pattern anywhere else.

Much improved I think, nice cap on it as well.

Not yet, I'm hoping to start doing some sprint meets at Curbrough soon.
The seals in the bottom of the old pots were weeping.

So I've not done a huge amount recently, mainly due to doing a lot of fixing my new Jag daily beater.
The rear hubs do now look like this though. Shiny new GM bearings and hub nuts done to 175nm rather than 5nm and a split pin that the Allegro uses.
Break lines are done, had to be braided due to the caliper needing to slide. Everything fits and I have handbrake cables made, I've had to route them through the metal loop on the corsa handbrake mech to keep them away from the break lines. Seems to work just fine, I've put a ptfe super low friction bush in there but I might get the cable modified again in the future.

All bled ok, had to drop the caliper off to bleed with them being mounted inverted. Cut some wooden blocks to fit in the calipers but luckily they wind back a bit anyway with them being handbrake ones.
Now to road test and the mot is due.

Re: Mgf donor car: building an MG Allegro VVC!
Have you tried these in anger yet Ed?
Re: Mgf donor car: building an MG Allegro VVC!
Yes
I need bigger front brakes and stiffer rear suspension.
Ordered 2000lb rear springs, will need some holder trimming.
I want to keep the 14s so looking at r200 262mm discs. If i went to 280mm ans 15s though id get a bit more than 58mph in 2nd gear hmm

Choices choices! LOL
I quite like the look of the Allegro on 15s - but I know you prefer 14s, so 262mm rotors are the way forward

Next session booked for the 1st July 2000lb springs fitted, seems much improved.
Longer front studs to be fitted to the front hubs as I've got hold of some 15s which will require 5mm spacers, hopefully I'll be able to try 280mm front brakes too.

Hmmm 15" cades, might have to order some orange ones.
Re: Mgf donor car: building an MG Allegro VVC!
280mm discs fit under the Cades wheels perfectly, dont even need spacers. Longer studs fitted as well.

Oh, I actually really like the blue! Stunning!
Re: Mgf donor car: building an MG Allegro VVC!
I like the orange! New wheel porn.
Made new droop strap mounts which limit the droop a lot more.

Re: Mgf donor car: building an MG Allegro VVC!
Would a metro style droop stop not work on your rear suspension? looks like you could do with a bit of bent tube cut in half along it's length for the handbrake cable to run through, rather than chafing on the cable stop for the standard one.

Is there something missing in that picture? I can see a circlip resting on the cable guide in the caliper?
