Probably worth importing crashed Japanese cars Swampy - although I guess many won't do the mileages to get trashed... Or, start getting more parts made locally?

Someone somewhere really needs to rescue the body production line from China - if it hasn't already been scrapped!

Written off Japanese cars are being brought in for wrecking, but as always it is supply & demand. Being a long way from England doesn't help either. The RF sphere failed last weekend with a new replacement costing $650 (GBP 420) plus labour. Whilst tinkering tonight, I have found the LF sphere is weeping fluid :thumbsd: Telling the bride about that one will be ... interesting!

But It's the weekend and the weather is perfect for going for a blast! :thumbsu:

420 quid delivered is a bit stiff. Have you seen this one here: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/130764810164 ?

Being outside the EU you should be able to get it less VAT and I can't imagine transport and import tax at £350.

I have a pair I bought from that seller then didn't use. Still new in the box.
If you want them I will sell them to you for the same price. Shipping should be less as I'm about midway between GB and Aus.
Let me know if you want me to do a postage quote.

BTW: The fronts aren't difficult to change. The only catch is you need access to a hydrolastic pump.

I had to wear the sphere cost as my dear daughter (bless her cotton socks) went for a drive whilst I was away and left the car in the garage resting on its belly  as I needed the car on the road and couldn't wait 1-2 weeks for a replacement part to arrive. I will be ordering another sphere (at a much cheaper cost) as I don't think a weeping sphere will get better. As penance, the girl-child is paying the freight on the sphere.

That's the whole crazy thing, I can buy new parts from England cheaper than second-hand here. Thanks for the offer Rich but keep the spheres for your increasing MGF population in Canada. :)

The japanese cars speedmeter dash dial is in KPH only. Is there a dial replacement that also has MPH indicated that can be retrofitted to a 96 MGF?

yes - I'd imagine the speedo is essentially the same - so the easiest would be to buy a mph dash panel and swap either the complete unit or just the speedo itself. :)

There are plenty of Pre 2000 cable driven speedos on E-Bay or from MG F Breakers. in the UK. Post 2000 are electronic and no good for you.
