Mmmm. I was thinking the same myself!!

Strange how a change seems to put people off :( Strange also how some people say how wonderful the new site is, but where are they??

Change may not always be for the better, but I'm sure we'll all come round in the end.

Me, I've just changed my view of trhe forum to get the avi on the left (thanks James!!) thanks to popular demand and life seems a bit better now

Old Chinese saying "if it ain't broke, don't fix it...."

All the old threads have been killed, all the history removed and all user ids losts. Surely no one outside the noisy few are surprised? Indeed it seems only this group are posting....

But the promise was that it would make life easier for the censors - at least the silence delivers this "improvement"!

Hello - not really a new member, I've been around for about 5 years - hope to see you all at the xmas natter - was going to book in the hotel but then realised my sister lives just outside abingdon so that solved that. Don't get on the sites very much lately - never seem to get near the pc long enough - the new site looks good and the reason it may be a bit quiet is because of the 'rugby' do you think?

Don't worry. Look at the Christmas Natter list. It took only a few days to have a list of over 80 people.
As soon as long winter evenings will prevent you from driving for fun, all will look for MGFrends around. No doubt it will be very busy here..
MGFvvc - 90FVBG - charcoal - you might think it is original - (1996 nr:8204)
MGTF 120 - 57RNJ7 - BRG - every day is an MG day - (2005)
MGC CGT - SJ08DY - tartan red - 1985 restauration fairly original - (1968 nr: 4137)

It's quite on a lot of forums not just F/TF related, often happens at this time of year with the run down to Christmas and having to do some real work for a change.

I think lots of people(my self included  ) are finding the new site hard to navigate. As Patrick said All the old threads have been killed Image, all the history removed and until it gets a kick start of new threads and some of the old ones continued from the people out there it will stay quite.I hope it picks up soon as James has put a lot of time and effort in :thumbsu:

Well Ive got a valid reason! (honeymoon) :P lot of the forums are quiet at the moment, and to be the honest the old "general" and "technical" sections werent exactly buzzing on the old forum either :x

What you have now is a period of (in my opinion, necessary) change as people adjust to the new layout and as threads / topics grow it will become a non-issue.

An idea though to everyone, stick your (general) posts in general unless it is specific to the area forums! Otherwise the general section becomes dead!

The number of people attending the Christmas natter is a very poor indicator of the success of this new site as all those attending seem to have signed up on the old site.....

We will be in Saigon but thinking of you all

Let's not all forget that it was only a couple of years ago that the other forum was in exactly the same state, after all was lost. It didn't take that long to build up into a comprehensive resource and a very active community and it will be the same here. People are always nervous of change, but the bare bones of any forum are all the same. It's just a learning curve as to where to find the familiar functions, but just about all of them are here. Also, as has already be said, this is a quiet time now as we reach the end of the the active season. Wait until the start of the new season when loads of threads detailing all the new events appear...

Don't worry... This isn't a crisis. This is just another beginning! :thumbsu:
