Post by Db09 » Sat Feb 14, 2015 2:04 pm

Hi
Tried to insure f this morning with admiral (multi car) .
They wanted £120 per month for volvo and f (volvo Is only £50 and or old mgf was £50 ) .
The f is on a 10,000 mile a yr and is kept on my drive on the school grounds .
Any of you guys know of any insurance comps I could try ?

Let's face it Admiral are rigth tits and pretty darned bad to deal with over anything. They do know how to rob you of your money though!

Both of my MGF's are insured through here:-
Hayley Cawthorne
A-Plan Insurance Bletchley
Specialist MG Insurance - 01908 271771
They each have their own stand alone policy and re earning their own NCD. I am paying a bit more PA then Armiral want PM from you for both of your cars and have only just renewed the policy on my MPi "Blue 33".

With full N/C bonus & car club membership [MGOC] I pay £135 with Lancaster.
For another £70 I get full B/D ins., inc European.
Great deal imo.

Of course your exact premium will depend on not only where you live but driving experieince as well. I nearly switched to the MGCC Abingdon policy but it was only £10 less although it had recovery included. I have a seperate recovery and break down policy which covers both MGF's. Also the mileage allowance witht eh Abingdon policy is a bit light for my usage. I tend to use the MGF's instead of the sallon unless I am carrying something or more than one person of course. I also like to try and do a few runs and events/shows and that racks up the miles like the little Derbyshire Run last week end we racked up 300 miles that day alone. Then there is Stoneleigh next month which is anoth 100+ miles for us ........................ it soon ads up.
