Not many rules really, this board being aimed at technical issues, it shouldn't fall foul (hopefully) of some of the more personal issues that can affect forums.
Rule 1 - Is that you need to think very carefully before posting anything technical or asking anything technical relating to the security system of the car - See 'Security Issues' sticky for more info.
Rule 2 - We (MGF Register) do not support copyright infringement and therefore references to CD ROM, PDF versions or paper copies of the workshop manual (for instance) should not be posted on the forum. We don't want to get into trouble and we'd rather sell you a genuine hard copy through our Regalia shop anyway!![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif)
Because advice is honestly and freely given in this technical section, much of it will be amateur experienced based, so any information is given in good faith and is not guaranteed as correct.

MGF all indicators flash at the same time when you indicate
Hi
There may already be a thread for this issue but can't find it, probably because I don't know how to describe it in simple terms. So my apologies if I am repeating something that has already been covered
Anyway this is the problem.
All four indicators flash when you indicate left or right.
The alarm works and does what it should, the fob works (tried new battery as well), the car starts, drives and runs well.
However, when it is running or with just the ignition switched on, all four indicators flash when you indicate left or right.
The hazard lights work ok and I have tried removing the fuse for the hazards at which point they don't work, however again when you indicate left or right, all four indicators flash even with the hazard circuit broke at the fuse.
I have noted that the red alarm light no longer appears to flash at all, when the alarm is activated or deactivated and because of this I think the issue could be related to the immobiliser or alarm system.
As I said already. the alarm and immobiliser appear to work ok when you lock and unlock the doors with both keys and fobs, but again because the red light isn't flashing, it gives me the feeling that our issue is related to the immobiliser or alarm in some way.
I have checked the rear lights and rear light earths and they are all good.
Has anyone else had this issue? and if so how do I cure it please?
Thank you.

Hi Mark, welcome to the forum!
I doubt you'll find any threads on this problem because I personally haven't come across this problem before!
Given the problem you've also identified with the alarm tell-tale lamp, I wonder whether there might be a problem with the body control unit/ multifunction unit (depending on the age of the car).
Which MG have you got mark, and what vintage?![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif)

Hi Mark, as Rob says, that's a new one on me. You've obviously checked the basics I can only suggest a T4 TestBook check, that may identify your problem and suggest the remedy. Indeed the body control unit could be the culprit unless there's a fault within the rotary coupler or indicator column switch although that's unlikely to affect both sides..
Bilstein shocks, Piper 4-2-1 manifold, Daytona, Vader cold-air induction, custom Z and F Stage 2 re-map, Electric boot release, braided hoses, Blue Magnecor leads, Technozen relays, Stage 1 head, BMW Angel Eyes headlights, "MG" puddle lights.

I'd check the flasher relay as well, but it does sound like a problem with the alarm module

Hi and welcome
It's a new one on me and I've been around MGR's for 30 years.
Personally I suspect it is either the switch (more likely) or possibly the alarm control ECU.
What car have you got, earlier ones have a different alarm systems to later ones.

Re: MGF all indicators flash at the same time when you indic
As a 51-plate MY2000 MGF, it has Lucas-based electrics - and the unit you will need to give some closer attention to is the multifunction unit (MFU) attached to the back of the fuse board. If you have access to a known good MFU, try swapping that over and seeing whether that cures the problem - if nothing else, it'll help you narrow down to where the problem is most likely to lie.
