Hi all
Just wondered if any body has had their headlining refitted recently?
I know you can do it yourself but I want a proper job so wanted to ask how much members are paying for the refitting service?
I've been quoted £150 to have it supplied and fitted by a local mobile trimmer and wondered if that's any good?
It's just black headlining material nothing fancy like leather! Mines sagging badly so needs doing soon.
Cheers.

Mine started sagging after sitting in the back garden for several winters.
£150 for a pro job sounds like good value.

It's really easy to do yourself for the cost of a lining material and glue....and a little time.
You need to remove the inner lining of the hardtop which comprises a moulded fibreboard shell. This is held into the hardtop by the front hood catches, a couple of plastic 'rivets' at the back and velcro pads above the door openings.
Next strip the old lining off and brush down/scrape off the remains of the lining's foam backing. Glue on the new fabric and refit. There are various guides that can be found with a little googling.
I used vinyl faux leather and Evo-Stik and it looked very good when completed.
I had a quote to do this from a car trimmer of over £200 about 10 years ago! I decided to do it myself and it's easy.

Relatively easy to do it yourself as Tipper has said. We did a how to in FasTForward about 5 years ago, if you have back copies on your book shelf.

Re: Cost of refitting headlining on hardtop?
Thanks for your inputs everyone...like I said I want a proper job doing and doing it myself isn't an option as I don't have anywhere I can sensibly pull it to bits and reassemble so it's going to a professional to do a much better job than I could with no facilities!! I just wanted to know how much it should cost if done by a trained professional ![Wink ;)](./images/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif)

See http://mgf.ultimatemg.com/group2/DIY/in ... lining.htm
I did this back in 2013. £150 for a pro job is probably reasonable given the labour time, but you can do this for a good deal less if you can find the right material...![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif)
