Forum rules
Not many rules really, this board being aimed at technical issues, it shouldn't fall foul (hopefully) of some of the more personal issues that can affect forums.

Rule 1 - Is that you need to think very carefully before posting anything technical or asking anything technical relating to the security system of the car - See 'Security Issues' sticky for more info.

Rule 2 - We (MGF Register) do not support copyright infringement and therefore references to CD ROM, PDF versions or paper copies of the workshop manual (for instance) should not be posted on the forum. We don't want to get into trouble and we'd rather sell you a genuine hard copy through our Regalia shop anyway! :)

Because advice is honestly and freely given in this technical section, much of it will be amateur experienced based, so any information is given in good faith and is not guaranteed as correct.

I've just dropped Bernie an email to find out availability over the next couple of months. I've also asked him about tuning your Metro Nigel :)

Bernie is going to sort out some dates for us (Saturdays are always in demand!)

Nigel, yes, they can look at the Metro for you - you may ultimately wish to have your own session, but they're happy to have a look. I'll check to see whether they want to charge for an on-the-day look-see and tune :)

Thanks Rob ~ don't think it will take much - just needs a little tweak to stop a small pink.

I'll drop Mark an email to see whether he'd be inteterested in attending, and check with Bernie (who has an interest in selling Emerald K3 ECUs - potential conflict) to see whether he'd be okay with Mark being there.

Could prove to be a very interesting day if Mark were able to come :D

I've asked Bernie to see whether he'd be happy to have Mark along for the RR day :) I agree with you Colin, this could make great magazine copy.

Nigel, Bernie has no problem with having your Metro for a little bit of tuning. Same price as everyone else, but if extra is required, then not unreasonably, there would be an extra charge... If you want to email him direct, PM me and I'll provide you his address :)

Rolling Road Day?

I'd be up for this if my new engine is fitted, depending on what day and if marks there even better.

Bernie is happy in principle for Mark to come along, which is great news. I've now emailed Mark to see whether he'd be interested in coming along.

I'll also have a chat with MG Enthusiast, and I am sure we'll have articles for both Safety Fast and FasTForward out of this - so all in all, it could work out to be a really fun day :D

Good news is that Mark can be there for a group tune at Novatech! :thumbsu:

This could be very interesting :thumbsu:

Who'd be interested in a MEMS3 re-tune?

Rolling Road and Z&F MEMS3 re-tune Day?

Post by andywatson » Fri Mar 22, 2013 11:36 am

Depending on date and engine, I'd like the z & f effect

I'm just waiting on a list of potential dates from Bernie now.

Please do let people on other forums know - but it will be limited places to no more than 15. MGF Register Members obviously get priority

Hi Rob

Further to my thread on re-mapping, I would be interested if Mark from zandf are there.

Cheers

Interested list, as it stands at the moment:

1. Rob - MGF Lotus135 cams, 4-2-1 manifold MEMS1.9 (Project Shed)
2. Hainsie - MGF 1.8i - MEMS1.9
3. Adrian - TF80LE MEMS3 - already remapped by Mark
4. MaddAussie - TF160 - MEMS3 - ?retune
5. Stuart - TF160 - MEMS3 - retune
6. Nigel - MG Metro 1300 - it's got carbs and a distributer mate!
7. c5aliveKarl - TF135 - MEMS3 - ?retune
8. MaddAussie's mate - something noisy, and probably powered by petrol.
9. Paul (Bigfootmgf) - MGF 1.8i - MEMS1.9
10. Martin C - MGF VVC - MEMS2J
11. Colin - TF160 - MEMS3 - retune
12. Ian - MY2000 MGF VVC - MEMS3 - retune
13. AndyWatson - MGF ?engine/management

Filling up fast then! Hopefully Bernie will get back to me with dates shortly. I can guarantee that not all of us will be able to make a single day, but if the format is successful, I might be persuaded to put on another :)

Is a remap the same as your "retune" Rob? 8-)

Yes - I guess a remap might be a bit more appropriate here. I blame Nigel obviously for seeding into my subconsciousness the need to retune his carb-fed Metro!
