Forum rules
Not many rules really, this board being aimed at technical issues, it shouldn't fall foul (hopefully) of some of the more personal issues that can affect forums.

Rule 1 - Is that you need to think very carefully before posting anything technical or asking anything technical relating to the security system of the car - See 'Security Issues' sticky for more info.

Rule 2 - We (MGF Register) do not support copyright infringement and therefore references to CD ROM, PDF versions or paper copies of the workshop manual (for instance) should not be posted on the forum. We don't want to get into trouble and we'd rather sell you a genuine hard copy through our Regalia shop anyway! :)

Because advice is honestly and freely given in this technical section, much of it will be amateur experienced based, so any information is given in good faith and is not guaranteed as correct.

Very extensive list of modifications. I think you'll enjoy the car once it's running and continuing its development: a car so extensively modified is never truly finished!!! :D

Why such a chunky drop link Allan?

Looks as though the front bumper has received a fair amount of work now - are you happy with the current look?

im running custom made drop links Rob.. They are 80% stiffer.. so the sheer/stress on the drop links is increased.. The standard factory drop links can break with the standard bars..

Given that ive stiffened up every other part of the car.. the weakest link (drop links) also needed attention.. Hence why I have also made the drop link mounts double shear too..

Im also in the process of re-visiting the rear tie bars.. At the moment they are a non serviceable item.. The inner joint is a ball joint which cannot be repaired.

This means a new arm at £100 when the ball joint fails..

My plan is to make the inner joint serviceable.. Polybushing it is not possible

Watch this space..

As for the front bumper..

I was after a little something different..

Plan is to make a custom aluminium air dam behind the rad which will direct 100% of the air flow through the rad.. IE the duct will have 2x sidea and a base.. and will be angled to push air up into the rad

I also wanted 4x spot lights (converted HID fogs) that will be switched via relays to come on when the main beam comes on.. IE hit the main beam and everything comes on.. ala night stage rally car..

These will of course be switched for MOT/ road use  ..

The body shell has been de-seamed..

Hockey stickes removed

Rear bumper lowered 40mm

Quads custom built into the shell..

Door handles shaved..

Rear arches smoothed to match the fronts..

The body work is far from finished yet.. but thought Id try some paint on it

Also started on the custom door cards..

The inner door pull is going.. As is the recess and the silver door capping..

The push buttons will be used to open the doors from inside (same as the Tuscan)
