Looking at getting another set of 16 inch Falkens but they have changed since my last set any comments ?
Always a difficult one I know any other suggestions

Had complete sets of Falkens fitted to two TF's about 8 weeks ago. Not done many miles on them yet (probably around 600 mile sin total), but they seem absolutely fine.

I have Toyo R888R's 205/45x16's all round, I cant speak higly enough about them. I do mainly track days but have to get to the track the longest distance so far is 220KM,Ararat One Tree Hill Climb, Winton Raceway 180Km, Phillip Island 80KM and Sandown International Raceway 16KM, Rob Roy Hillclimb 24 KM. So far Ararat once, Winton once Phillip Island twice Sandown three times and Rob Roy Hill Climb 3 times plus an Autokhana or two.
Tyres are about half worn.
I expected to get two complete seasons but due to lock down may do double
Prior to Toyo i Used Kumo V70's no problems managed two seasons but the Toyo's were a little cheaper. The best were Bridgeston RE 55's cost was the factor that i looked elsewehere

So has anyone worked out how to carry 4 spare wheels in an F?

Seems like most of the track day wear is in getting to and from the venue!

I have 4 spare rims and plan on running a 2nd set of wheels for track days,
but Andrew's issue remains, especially for interstate meets that could be 1,000 km away.

All ideas welcome, perhaps a friend with a race car in a trailer.

I know this thread has been going for almost ever, but on our trip for Drive-It Day on Sunday 23rd APril, I got a real blow-out and the tyre was totally destroyed, the inner wall completely collapsing. This may be because I couldn't stop where it blew, it was just too dangerous to stop and change a wheel there.

I have on the rear a pair of the Falkens 215/40 16, and wondered if these are still available. The fronts are also Falken and when I fitted them transformed the car, (for the better, I hasten to add). All the twitchiness disappeared, so I am reluctant to change. I propose to replace both rears as I don't want one part worn and one new tyre on the rear.
If the Falkens are no longer available what good alternatives are there that are compatible with the Falkens on the front ?

PS: I found out on Sunday the benefit of a spare wheel. The tyre was so damaged that a blow-up kit would have been completely useless, and the location had no mobile coverage !!

Yes Falkens are still available. You may find the model has changed depending on how old the tyres are. Fitted a couple of sets last year to replace original Goodyears on my 85ths.

Tyres were fitted in May 2015

They will likely be either Falken ZE912's or ZE914's. The current model suitable for the F & TF is the ZE310 which was released in 2019.

A quick internet search shows ZE914, and ZE310 but the ZE914 doesn't seem all that freely available. One has to ask what the difference between the two model numbers actually is. Is the ZE310 a replacement for the ZE914 ?

Yes, the ZE310 replaced the ZE914, which it turn replaced the ZE912. The ZE310 is the current model so should be the most widely available.

Steve, many thanks. I am trotting off to my local tyres today place to get two of them ordered.
