Forum rules
Not many rules really, this board being aimed at technical issues, it shouldn't fall foul (hopefully) of some of the more personal issues that can affect forums.

Rule 1 - Is that you need to think very carefully before posting anything technical or asking anything technical relating to the security system of the car - See 'Security Issues' sticky for more info.

Rule 2 - We (MGF Register) do not support copyright infringement and therefore references to CD ROM, PDF versions or paper copies of the workshop manual (for instance) should not be posted on the forum. We don't want to get into trouble and we'd rather sell you a genuine hard copy through our Regalia shop anyway! :)

Because advice is honestly and freely given in this technical section, much of it will be amateur experienced based, so any information is given in good faith and is not guaranteed as correct.

Interior has been fully sound proofed...

Every interior panel smoothed and MG dash badge gone.. Air bag blank smoothed in..

New seats (after market once I decide) and will be full leather (dark red probably) with built in heating and inflatable lumber cushions..

Double DIN 'I phone mirror' head unit..

Drift irridium custom dials..

3x gauge pod.. Up a pillar

Lexion clear engine cover with LED spot lights in engine bay

New sound system.. Something fairly high end hopefully..

Modified brake pedal (lowered to sit level with accelerator)

MS slick shifter

So pretty standard really lol

Is the bumper meeting the wing okay? I think the angle of the first picture above makes it look awkward somehow?

The bonnet catch isnt on.. so the bonnet pulls down to meet the lights.. and the bumper and head light is now perfect.. just need to 'fettle' the wing/light edge now..

I looked at two standard TFs at the weekend and both had different (reads bad) panel gaps around the head lights :o

Mine's dreadful. Nothing really fits on the old girl these days (and this is not Project Shed, which annoyingly has better shut lines around the front end compared to dear old N7). One too many tyre wall I suspect! Restoration time approaches - but only when I have the time and money (which won't be any time in the immediate future I fear!)

One huge advantage of the fibre glass bumper though is its very stiff...

So Ive ditched the front crash bar that blocks the rad and made my own bumper fixing up..

Making a custom rad duct (as I have a air con rad) I've got a few sheets of 3mm sheet aluminium :thumbsu:

All of the air entering the front opening will be directed through the rads.. Plus twin fans.. One with manual override..

Picked up the rear set up from Mr Guru last night

M12 bolt replaced with M14..

Rear arms now rose joints instead of non replaceable ball joints..

Rear discs are now 312x25 vented discs...each disc has had 3 hours machining to reduce weight.. (Audi TT front discs)

Hi Spec calliper mods not finished yet.. But callipers are 2 pot (2x38mm pistons) and spot calliper hand brake using standard MGF cable..

Looks fantastic Allan.

The one thing that is a problem which modified discs, and that is routine replacement: you've got off-the-shelf discs, but to match the ones you've now got fitted, they too will need 3-hours of machining... I have a similar problem with my current rear disc set up, and it's a bit annoying...

One of the reasons for going for the TT discs was to keep them 'off the shelf' for that very reason Rob..

£56 a pair... bargain.. and off the shelf ones will fit no problem :thumbsu:

But.. My man decided to machine some weight off..

Luckily for me.. I have the file so can get them CNC'd locally.. or go see my mate and pay a low rate for 'over night' machining

Wont be an every day car.. so fingers crossed I wont be needing any for a few weeks lol

My college may be able to machine them here..

That's handy! Can you get MGF PCD holes drilled on Peugeot discs too? ;)

Few pics comparing the brakes..

240mm solid rear vs the new 312x25mm vented disc.. Rear calliper will now be Hi Spec 2 pot

Fronts are now 333x32mm vented with Merc SL500 Brembo 4 pots compared to the 304mm AP four pot set up

Hugely impressed so far- I've always thought the rear brakes were a bit of a nod to having brakes rather than actually aiding braking- also the puny disk on the back compared to the 304mm fronts always looked wrong- you seem to have redressed that quite nicely!

It's gonna stop, no question of that but (just playing devil's advocate here) will the balance be right or have you sorted out a way to alter the brake balance if needed??

Awesome job though- would love to see this beast of a car when it's all together

Merlin Motorsport do a nice 'in car' adjustable bias valve..

As the rears on these cars are feed via one supply cutting in the bias valve is easy..
