Hood Stowage cover lining

hi all.. The lining of the cover is I believe like a layer of thin foam. This is a original cover so i assume the foam is 20 years old..Problem foam is breaking down into a fine light brown dust that gets absolutely everywhere. Is there anything that could be sprayed into the lining or has anyone replaced the lining The latter i think would be the best bet..Anyone done this Thanks in advance tony

Once the foam has failed it is time to replace.

I tried gluing another layer of fabric on top of the foam but the dust still finds a way out!

I have the same issue. Such a shame as the top of the hood cover is still like new as it's hardly been out in the sunshine.

Surely if one is patient enough all of the old thin foam could be removed and a new lining glued in???

Will be my next project after the one's I've started are over.

thanks for your replies. It looks like there is no easy fix My cover is perfect other than the lining. This morning i completely removed the lining
and what foam was still there, easily brushed off the cover. I was wondering what the lining did ? It presumably protects the cover where it touches the hood so i am going to cut out a piece of towelling to lay over the canopy before fitting the cover I hope this works as the cover is far too good to scrap Thanks your replies ....rgds tony
