16" square spoke alloys.
Well, I've finally got round to having a damn good tidy up in the garage and clearing the last F-related bits that were lurking at the back and need to find a good home for:
Four 16" square spoke alloys (without tyres)
I was mid-way through getting these repainted when I sold the F so they need completely refurbishing and have undergone some initial paint stripping. Apart from that they're in good nick and not damaged/kerbed etc.
Not after mega-bucks, would simply rather see them go to good use than get scrapped.
£50 and they're yours.
This is the only image I currently have of them (when they were on the car)

Re: 16" square spoke alloys.
Hi the Caterham Owner,
Did you sell your wheels? If not, do you know how much it would be to have them fully refurbished? Could be interested.
I live in Jersey so would have to figure out total shipping costs, first to the refurbisher and then over to Jersey. Our F is a mk1 non vvc with the original 15 inch wheels. I keep losing pressure on one wheel, which only stays up for about a couple of months after being resealed at the tyre place, then it goes down in about a week. Rather than have these wheels refurbished I thought I might "up" the wheel diameter so that I can fit larger disc brakes as well.
Regards.

Re: 16" square spoke alloys.
Hi bigfootmgf,
Can you post some photos of the good 15" Mk1 wheel, thanks. Also can you give me an idea of the weight of the wheel so that I can get an idea of shipping costs - if I should go down that line (see below).
Hi D (m9fdb),
Are you able to give me more info on the set of 16" wheels that are available? Price, condition etc.
At the moment our personal situation stops us from getting off this island. That situation could change at any time. Our dog has got cancer and she was given just a couple of months to live, but that was 21 months ago, and she is still running round like a loony and enjoying life. The vets reckon we're in uncharted waters as the tumour (in her head) is not behaving as is usual, so we are just taking each day as it comes. We feel we can't (and don't want to) leave her with anybody as she is.
Might be able to make the MGFest if our situation does change. It would be great to meet up with you guys.

Re: 16" square spoke alloys.
Hi I don't have a photo of the wheel at the moment, the wheel is not damaged on the outside but there marks on the inside but i think they should cleen up it also has a tyre with alot of tread that will be of no use to me.
the wheel is not an original from when the car was new as i had to replace one wheel that got damaged.
I use it as my spare at the moment but plan to replace it with one of my spare square spoke wheels.
here is a picture of the type of wheel if you are interested i will try and find time to take some photos

Thanks Bigfootmgf,
Will compare picture with my wheels tomorrow just to make sure they are the same style as I've got on.

Re: 16" square spoke alloys.
Hi Guys,
Thanks for all the replies.
Have been able to source a replacement wheel locally.
The MG Centre has just had in an insurance write-off and I was able to buy a Mk1 wheel. In not too bad a nick either.
I decided against changing to 16" wheels for now as my tyres have very little wear.
Thanks again.
