Thanks for he update KasperKasper wrote:Did this party back in 2006 or so, Great event, and yes you are allowed to jump a red signal every now and then, drive at 50 MPH through villages with a copper taking you over standing on his saddle (oops we shouldn't tell)
Not to forget the best of all: Italian hospitality and Fantastic Food.
Should join again in the near future......
If you're lucky it might be possible to combine MG by the sea with a visit to the Mille miglia event.
all MG's I believe Mykel, and I think Marina & Christian went on the last oneMykel wrote:This sounds very tempting, are modern cars allowed to enter? On the linked website it says something like classic cars and some modern ones up to the 80's.
I have just emailed the question to Fabio, just to be 100% certainMykel wrote:That's great, Col, I'll be putting this down in my calendar then. Hopefully I can manage this date to fit in my work obligations.
Mykel wrote:As you will expect, I have already started to look for a nice way to get there and back ...

out : -
night 1 Larochette (Maria's) or Cologne
night 2 Turin / Avigliana in Italy - I know 2 good places from my time working there
arrive Gabicce Mare
Return
leave the event - first night Lindau area in Germany (found a great looking place, on the eastern side of Lake Constance, a freshwater lake called Bodensee in German)
second night - Larochette (Maria's) or Cologne (probably the opposiet of what we do on teh way down there)
following day home
others are very welcome to join us if they like
That's sounds great, but over how many days each way?Mykel wrote:Maria’s is a brilliant idea as a meeting point. I had thought of Strasbourg, but the good old TdL HQ is much better.
I then thought to go down to Lake Constance, visit the Rhine cascade at Schaffhausen and go on to Chur. From there across the Lenzerhalde, Albula and Julier to the Lake Iseo near Bergamo, then on towards the Po river and down the coast to Rimini.
Return via Venice, Stelvio, Fernpass, Reutte, Dinkelsbühl, Heidelberg, Odenwald, Cologne.
Very very true KasperKasper wrote:Probably it will not be possible to do a huge number of mountain passes as it is only May. Stelio does not open unit (mid) June. Many other passes are closed too at that time of the year as we learned in 2006.
But plenty of nice alternatives....
Same here Adrian, but due to holiday quota hence our 2 nights each way plan aboveadrianclifford wrote:I'm not a fan of the Stelvio, it's boring. Box ticked job done back in 2008 on the way to Zug.
We've got to think of total time away because of the dog.
