Nigel, I am a bit concerned about comments on the Announcements page about having to be on site at Abingdon by 9.45
The details I received about the run says they leave for the site between 9.30 and 10.00 for a 40 mile drive, what do you think?

I think if you are on one of the official runs in then it's not so much of a problem. The bit about having to be on-site has come from the Health and Safety people. I think they are concerned about cars in motion when the show is open to the public. By saying everyone has to be in position by a certain time it cuts down on vehicle movements. This only applies to cars entering the show area and not the general parking. I'm sure the official runs will be fine entering the site after the official time. It's just a way of controlling moving traffic for safety reasons.
Don't forget your brollies.

I saw that we should be there by 9:45 for H&S reasons.
Is there any way we can get confirmation that we can do the run and still enter the MG parking site after 9:45?

I've emailed one of the organisers for clarification.

Sorry guys. I've just had clarification from one of the organisers. If you are not on site by 0945 you don't get in. General parking only after this time. This includes cars on the official runs in to the event.
See first post in the
Announcments thread.
Out of the organisers hands. HSE strike again.

Thanks for the info John,
That's a shame as we had hoped to park in the designated F Register parking area. The Abingdon Centre route book for the run in from Caversham says "Turn right into MG entrance" which would seem to indicate that those on the road run have a separate entrance as does the booking form. We'll have to see what happens on Sunday.

There was a designated entrance last year to the event and I believe that is the case again this year. Unfortunately the messages I'm getting are that there is to be no vehicular movement after 0945 as the show opens to the public at 1000.
I'll monitor this closely over the next couple of days and report any changes if and when they happen.
Let's hope common sense takes charge.

Which of your 8 fitted bags are you taking
Stop off points ~ Avebury & Marlborough, but let's play it by weather! If it's really bad we could always go to the Outlet Centre in Swindon !
See you at 11am in the morning

Apologies for the confusion folks. I could only pass on the information as I was getting it.
Pleased it's all sorted and hope you all have a great day.
See you there.

Sun is shining, sky is blue. Looks like it's going to be a nice day (or at least better than forecast!)
