ULW ultra light wheels
Several people have asked me to investigate getting the ultralight wheels at a discounted price. I have tried my contacts. Unfortunately, the best I can do is around 8% off the list price for these wheels Assuming that the wheels are still available, the prices for these inclusive of VAT would be (each wheel) :
RRC110460LEH £229.17
RRC002040LEH £307.75
I might be able to squeeze a bit more off if there was a group buy
RRC110460LEH £229.17
RRC002040LEH £307.75

Re: ULW ultra light wheels
To make Ralph's posting a bit more complete
RRC110460LEH
RRC002040LEH (Came with Sport Pack 3 on a TF, value £1525/€2500 and increases the track)
Both wheels have a MNH (silver) version as well. I don't know if Ralph could supply these as well.

Re: ULW ultra light wheels
I have the 002040 wheels - and can be seen in my avatar opposite. Very pleased with them - but the replacement price is very painful. Well done Ralph for attempting to drive down the price - how much more for a group buy, and how many wheels would you need to order to achieve it?

Re: ULW ultra light wheels
I've checked EPC. The MNH version is only listed for RRC110460, but is not identified as a lightweight wheel. This wheel is about 5% cheaper than the equivalent charcoal version. If we could confirm that the silver sparkle one is the same weight as the charcoal one then this could be a good route to go. These wheels would be £216.33 each inclusive of VAT.
If I got an order for 5 sets I think I could get the price down by another 4%. I would need to get the money up front (or at least take credit card details) before ordering.

Re: ULW ultra light wheels
Ah, one of my favourits, wheels....
I've got some weights, but Rob has some different weigths on his website
- RRC110460MNH: 8.6 kg/wheel (excl. tyre), my own measurement, allthough Rob has 6.2 kg/wheel on his site. I could easily redo the mesurement as I've got some of these wheels without tyres in the garage
- RRC002040MNH: must have posted it before, .... I must redo it, so I am sure about it. I will post the result somewhere next week.
and while we are at it and being on the technical section
- Scandinavian/F-register wheel: 9.0kg/wheel (excl. tyre)
- RRC002630MNH (aka TF160 wheels): 9.2 - 9.3kg/wheel (excl. tyre), although Rob has 8.7 kg/wheel
- RRC110460MNH (aka Trophy wheels): 11.4 kg/wheel (excl. tyre), and Rob only 8.7 kg/wheel !!!!

Re: ULW ultra light wheels
The handling and ride is certainly better - but then I also have different tyres fitted (Bridgestone S-02 205/45 R16) which somewhat confounds the issue. But I am certainly very pleased with themMr bennett wrote:those look sweet Rob gives the car an aggressive look .. is the handling better??

Re: ULW ultra light wheels
My take on weights is;
ULW: 6.2 Kg
Multispoke: 9.3 Kg
Trophy: 10.7 Kg
11 spoke; 9.3 Kg.
I started with Multispokes, then switched to Trophy wheels, then finally switched to ULWs.
The ULWs feel really light compared with the Trophies when handling, and I've decided to stay with the ULWs all year round, rather than use the heavy weight Trophy wheels for winter use.
As an aside:
Front Trophy with tyre: 21.0 Kg (new Toyo)
Front ULW: 13.7 Kg (new Toyo)
ULW: 6.2 Kg
Multispoke: 9.3 Kg
Trophy: 10.7 Kg
11 spoke; 9.3 Kg.

Re: ULW ultra light wheels
Presumably they have a part number cast into the reverse.
BTW there are three advertised on eBay at the moment.

Ermm, I'm really not trying to being funny - but they are completely different!!
And yes, they have part numbers and serial numbers on the inside rim.

Re: ULW ultra light wheels
No your not being funny but having not seen them and going only by the photos in this thread the 2nd post has two photos in it and the top one looks like a dark, i.e not silver, version of the LE Multispoke the 2nd photo is of a different design a straight spoke so perhaps you could post photos of the ULW so others like myself know what is being talked about .

Re: ULW ultra light wheels
Kevin, the picture above is the Multispoke, not the ULW. It weighs about 1.5kg more than the ULW.
The ULW looks like this:
I've been lucky enough to collect two sets - one set each for both my MGFs (yes, another weight-saving idea for Project Shed! )

Re: ULW ultra light wheels
I think as an example of a similar looking wheel manufactured in the same colour - and therefore present a trap for the unwary?
