NEW YEARS DAY

Post by TimM » Mon Dec 29, 2008 5:44 pm

I Hope you all had a great Xmas ?

Here we are in that strange hinterland between Christmas and New Year and you may be wondering what to do on the next Bank Holiday coming up.

Well here's a suggestion , as long as you can get up without too much of a hangover from the night before, celebrate the New Year with a visit to Brooklands for their traditional New Year club meet and then to the Oatlands Chaser pub in Weybridge for another classic car gathering (organsined by the Vintage Humber club would you belive - you may have seen it advertised in MG enthusiast ).

Now the drawback- Brooklands will cost £8 per person unless you are a Brooklands Trust Member in which case its squiddly squat. If there's a few of you who don't want to pay or are not members then we can just meet at the Oatlands Chaser which will only cost you a pint and a pie. We'll adjust timings etc accordingly.

Let me know

So far

Not too many people checking the forums by the look of it !

If you fancy going to Brooklands then meet at my house about 11am and we'll pretend to be pre 1973 cars. (£8 per adult if you are not Brooklands Members, squiddlly diddly if you are !))

If you'd like to meet us with the Humbers, Hot rods, Custom Cars and various other groups at the Oatlands Chaser which is in Oatlands Chase Weybridge then we'll probably be there about 1230 ish. Park in the rear car park.

(If you don't know where my house is then PM me)

Brooklands was the busiest I've seen it for a few years on Club Day - big contingent of Mercedes not too surprisingly I guess!

I think our cars fitted with the festive season really well by looking just like Christmas Decorations :D. Easily the brightest club combination of the day.

Hopefully Marty can buy a sponge with his Christmas money ;)

Then we joined the Hot Rods for lunch but parked in different formation YYRR instead of YRYR.

Good day out and a good way to enter a New Year . :thumbsu: (Don't forget to send your Brooklands Memberships off !)

Good Point Marty !

Has to be cleaned some time though ....

Brooklands gate was up 20% this year with 1674 people through the doors which is very good for New Years Day

I've updated the website a bit and some more pics are now onlineHERE
