Just a quick hi to all.
I have acquired an old MG F 2002, Freestyle VVC, with sunken suspension and a non starting engine.
The engine turned out to have been wrongly timed on the cam belt, no damage and it starts. Some wires from the ECU have been cut, and a pick up and toothed gear fitted on the pulley, seems to work OK.
I rescued all the suspension spheres by fitting a valve and pumping the gas side with argon, and then pumping the system on the liquid side. The handling is fantastic, and the car drives smoothly and comfortably.
I think for the first time in many many years.
I am so chuffed with the results and smile from ear to ear.
I know the engines well having driven Rovers for most of my life. Just so you know that I will be careful with overheating, water, head gasket and water pumps, inlet manifold etc etc.
What a fantastic little rocket!

Re: NEW MG F
Great to hear that you've kept another F on the road. Post some photos so we can see the car and the local countryside.

Re: NEW MG F
thanks.
I will see if I can get a scenic picture at a stage and post it.
This is the country for a car like this! Provided you have a hat! - or hair!
